black history

The celebration of Black History in February is an opportunity to recognize and honor the numerous contributions African Americans have made to our collective American Story. Though Black heritage is celebrated predominantly during this symbolic month, photographs of Plant City’s black community can still be viewed on our database or in our binder throughout the year.

our town

Since its incorporation in 1885, Plant City has developed its agricultural foundation into a booming industry. The “World's Winter Strawberry Capital” has made quite a name for itself but continues to grow while maintaining its small-town feel. Nothing demonstrates this better than the transformation of its downtown landscape. Take a visual walk along the streets of Plant City decade-by-decade.
